Not sure if you have a question, or just stating you are back. I remember you.

If you are now on meds for bipolar, you might feel the need to drink decrease if in fact you were self-medicating with alcohol. Drinking while taking these meds will not help and is contraindicated. Allow meds to begin working...at times it can awhile to find the correct med plan.

Are you having problems accepting diagnoses???

i feel for you. i drank alot after getting out of the service ( liquor) became addicted to a psychotic mind altering drug for 3 years and became clean after losing it all, thru the grace of God and help from my parents in which i can not be grateful enough for. after that I moved to beer to get away from the liquor and cope with returning to sanity. soon i got the fits of beer as i started shaking at work and started smoking pot at night before bed to slow my mind down and that was all well and good until it became clear that i can not get a good enough job to pay for my new wife and baby if im not clean- and with a new member in the house that drinks beer from wake up to bedtime its been hard to not have 3 or four before bed to replace what the pot was doing. None of these crutches are actually helpful and it becomes that i do these things to escape the problems that these things are causing.

At the end of the day my life is not just about me. what i do affects others and there are people that need me to not be selfish. its hard and as a person that struggles with something close to what you described. I wish you the best and if you would like to vent to some one you can PM me and we go from there. God willing there is relief for problems such as these.

Hope this helped.
