The "sign" is them asking you to leave them alone before it got to the restraining order part? We need more details.
My ex used to change the energy in the room because he was big, tall, and his normal resting face looked like he was scowling. He would often sit with his arms crossed, he came across looking like an angry person and people felt they had to be on eggshells around him. It didn't help that during discussions, he would shout people down and in other ways "bully" people a bit just with his mannerisms.
It's been like this my entire life. No one has ever wanted me around, and everyone that knows me thinks I'm a bum and failure. I'm a social reject, an outcast, a washout, a pee-on, and possibly a targeted individual.
I'm a virgin in ALL aspects. It's very difficult for me to build any sort of rapport with a female. I guess I'm too ugly or weird.

Think about your personality characteristics. Are you a know it all? Narcissistic? Loud and overbearing? Do you brag or try to "one up" people all the time? Are you a great listener? Do you talk too much or try to change the subject to what you want to discuss? Do you show empathy for others? There are some great tests to take on line...The Myers Briggs Personality Inventory is free at several sites on line.
We can all stand to learn some things about ourselves and our personality characteristics.
