Not sure why they announced PGD as a "new" base. It already was, and has been a "base" for 3 years (plus there are 7 or 8 other "bases" around the country, including 3 in FL). All they did was add 4 new non-stop destinations. It's good news though that they are absorbing some of the traffic that Direct Air left.

"The base designation means that one of its MD-80 series jets will be stationed there, along with an unspecified number of flight attendants"

Yeah, I know that. We have the aircraft and flight attendants already based here. All they did was add 4 new destinations. Good for our local economy!

Yeah, dozens for one plane. :-) I hope they actually fly somewhere near Baltimore, or even someplace where you can get to another place.

Probably not Baltimore. Allegiant generally flies from northern metro areas to "vacation" hot spots (Vegas, Phoenix, Florida, Myrtle Beach, etc... All are non-stop flights, nothing connecting. Fares are usually between $49-$179 each way, all depending on demand. I've flown them for about three years (along with the now-defunct Direct Air). Always liked Allegiant better.
