I have a system that takes out iron and then softens the water or pulls out the minerals and aerates it all taking out the sulfur gas. I know to add rock salt to the softener, but I am not sure what to do with the iron tank. I know its bleach but is it a special bleach or house hold bleach and how much how often? If anyone knows please post it so I can start to do this myself. Thanks.

I use a bleach that I purchase at a water treatment supply store. It is 12.5% sodium hypochlorite, whereas the bleach bought for laundry usually ranges in the 5.5 - 6% range. Other than that, I don't know if there is any difference. I'll add about 2 cups to the tank and then fill the tank with water (which I think is 35 gallon). After that, it's just a matter of trial and error to get the mixture right; if I smell bleach in the water then I turn down the dial setting on the ejector pump or add more water, if the sulfur smell comes back in a few days I either add more bleach or turn up the dial. There may be a more scientific way do it, but if there is I don't know it.
Hope that helps you out some.

I use regular Chlorine, that I use for my pool. I throw a half a cup in weekly. Usually when I adding it to the pool.

About every month or so, I take a brush and scrub the inside of the arerator tank and drain it.

Other than that, add salt, keep the pressure up in your pressure tanks and you are good to go.
