Roughly how close to the ocean do you have to be (in miles) for mosquitoes to never be a problem?

Seriously? I always thought mosquitoes were strictly an inland problem.

Don't know if you can say that someplace will NEVER have a mosquito problem. I've seen them 2-3 miles out in the gulf while boating at dusk. Don't think any place is 100% safe. The sea breezes will certainly help keep them at bay, however there aren't sea breezes 100% of the time.

Nope. They don't have a boundary line, or invisible fencing
If there's standing, stagnant water somewhere, there will be mosquitoes.

Why do people move to FL then?

I'd rather get snowed on than bitten by mosquitoes.

Because you don't let them control your life. Their not that bad. If they were, nobody would be here. In fact, they were worse in Michigan, where we're from. Much worse. For the most part, they're only bothersome for about an hour at dusk. Sometimes not even. It's not a big deal, really.

They don't bite, say, 3 hours after sunset?

You think places that get snow do not have mosquitoes? Go up to Alaska, Canada, north Russia, Ukraine, Minnesota, etc; you will get eaten alive by them.
