Why are there a ton of winged creatures floating around in my pool? Is it because of the rain? Or just the bonus of not having a cage or cover?

No bug problem here and I also don't have a cage.

We have a cage, I know without one we would be covered in bugs and the squirrels would be out on the rafts. We have a lot of woods around us.

We don't have a cage on our pool either, but we aren't getting those type of bugs. Must be in your area, however, there are certain times of the year where we do get swarms of bugs in the pool. It usually only lasts a couple of days and they are gone.

Looks like a swarm of mating ants. Yes, the rain brings them out. Won't last long if it is ants. .

Yep, and just think of what they did in the pool. Might want to shock it with an extra dose of chlorine.
