I think I remember reading somewhere on here that the ATMs a Publix don't charge an admin fee no matter what bank the card is from. Am I recalling correctly or is senility getting worse?

If your financial institution is a member of Presto! network, transactions at Presto! automatic teller machines will be surcharge-free. If your financial institution is not a member of the network, you can still use the automatic teller machines for a $2.50 surcharge for each transaction.

Publix's Presto! site lists its financial institution network members.

Ok - I guess senility's winning. No, we're members of a local CU here in the northeast. $2.50 isn't gonna break us up but I thought I'd read they were free. - Oh well. Thanks!

Edit: Actually, I just checked the list and amazingly enough Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union IS a member of Presto.... maybe that's what I read somewhere.... Go away senility!

Your best option is to just use the cash-back option. Get up to $40 cash...makes sense if you are buying something.

Thanks, but I looked our CU up in the link that Carolina posted and it's a member - so free ATMs at Publix.

Even better. I have USAA, so I just get ATM fees refunded.

I wish... I was in the "lottery system" that was around in the 'Nam era. My number was 348. One of my college roomates drew number 2. We both were drunk for a week but for different reasons. My Dad was a WW II vet but apparently never belonged to USAA so I'm not eligible... Wanna adopt me? I'll be the son you never had! I'll get drunk, wreck the car, etc....

Hahaha. Interestingly enough, I actually used a Publix ATM today and was charged the $2.50 fee...but yeah it'll just be refunded when my monthly statement comes around.

You mean some supermarkets charge ATM fees? I know Publix does not and I would never shop at a supermarket that charges for an ATM!

We are talking about the actual on-site ATM, not the cash back option you can choose at a register. What would make the on-site ATM at a grocery store any different than a regular one?
