I've been combing the internet looking for a place to stay in Key West towards the end of February. I have found a couple of possibilities but thought I would see if any forum members have any suggestions before I made a reservation.

There will be 6 of us and the plan is to take the Key West Express over for just one night. Hoping to find a place near the restaurants, bars, and other sights since we will be on foot. I realize it is peak time and everything is expensive but we would sure like to keep the rooms around $400 for one night if possible.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you.

I'd be interested in this myself, if anyone has any recommendations.

My wife and I were there in November. Took the Key West Express and stayed at the Margaritaville Resort right on the harbor. Had an great room with a view of Mallory Square and the harbor right from our patio. Couldn't be much closer to the action of Duval street also. I would go back there again because of the location. I'd also recommend spending at least two nights. Not cheap. Have fun! Mark

Pier House is nice, so is Banyan Resort. Both are in close to Duval.

We rented a small cottage close to town and COULD NOT have been happier. Front porch; privacy; pool around the corner; the ability to prepare our own meals if we wanted....
We stopped at Kroger and bought supplies before we checked in. Found a parking place for the car and never moved it. Ours was located on Simonton Street. Get as close to Duval as you can.
The first day there be sure to rent a golf cart from the place at Center and Truman. You can zip all over the island and get a feel for where everything is.

We stayed at the WESTIN ( now Margaritaville )2 years ago. We paid big bucks for an Ocean Front room. This was our view. They know Carnival parks their ships in front of the hotel and they don't care. Will never stay there again.

Sorry about the sideways pic. Don't know why it did that. LAY ON YOUR SIDE FOR A BETTER VIEW.........LOL
