I have been trying to get my vehicle tag and registration changed over to Florida. My lien holder has my title since I still owe on the vehicle and I have been told by Charlotte County Tax Collector that they need the title to get my tag and registration issued for Florida.Everytime that I call my lien holder to find out what the status is they give me the run around . I have been trying since the end of Feburary to get this taken care of and still no title has been sent to Florida. I am on a fixed income now since I have retired and can not afford to pay for any legal advise. Any suggestion on whom to contact to help assist with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Whoever your lienholder is, walk in and demand a copy of the title. Why are they not giving you a copy? It's pretty standard stuff. Their name is on the title as 1st lienholder.

The lien holder is Mazda Capital Services. I am not aware that a office is in this area. So all I can do is call the customer service number and speak with a repersentative. But I have also talked with several supervisors about this and still nothing is being done. They keep saying that there title department needs to send the title out. And why this is not being done I have no clue.

What state are you coming from? You should still have a title issued from that state; it just won't be a "clear" title - it will have the lien holder listed. Once the loan is paid off, then a lien release will be issued by the lien holder.

Regardless of whether someone has a clear title or one with a lien holder listed, the state should still issue you a title. I'd call the states Motor Vehicle office and get a duplicate title issued from them.
