For a day?

For a moment?

Some days, actually most days recently, it feels like I lost him yesterday. But this coming Monday 9/17/18 (my mom's 85th birthday), it will be 2 years since I lost him. He was only 8, and it was completely unexpected.

Some days I still feel totally lost without him to come home to. I would sit on the loveseat in the TV room and turn on streaming video, and he would wrap himself around my neck and purr his little head off, then take a little snooze.

I am sadly stunned at the depth of my missing him, even 2 years later.

And I am still so, so angry at the universe for taking him from me so young.

Eini, I miss you, but you will be in my heart forever. Sometimes that is not enough and all I want to do is cry.

We felt that way when we lost our Chihuahua after 18 years. It went on for six months and we decided to get another dog. Getting a new puppy 6 months ago solved the problem. We have had pets (a cat and 4 dogs so far) for more than 40 years. We still miss them but we don't mourn them.

Meant to add, beautiful kitty. I can see why you miss him so much.

Sorry about the passing of your beautiful boy. Sometimes they'll come to you in a dream that feels like real life. Sometimes a vision while you're awake. I've had that happen a few times and friends have told me about experiences when their pet was so real, standing, moving, looking at them. Miss them all, the ones that passed recently and the ones that passed a long time ago.

I fell the same way about all 4 of mine that have passed. From the one 8 years ago, to the one we made the decision for last night.
