New Question from someone who wants to work in Wake County, Cary schools:
Does anybody know what the situation is for teachers in wake county (Cary, Morrisville area)? I will be needing an ESL teaching position for 2011. From what I read online it's a mess everywhere with no jobs, hiring freeze, no teacher's union in North Carolina and expensive health benefits. I am aware of the lower payscale, but how is the environment? I am NC certified as well as NY certified but need to make the move to NC. I am trying to have a realistic picture of the teaching scene there, before I move. I will also need to enroll my son in school so the problem is twofold. We will be in Cary area- Can anyone give me feedback on how are the elementary schools there? And in particular if there is any "positive" about jobs especially for English Language Learners and benefits? I would like to have some hope. I definitely need to have a position but find it hard to be working in NY and at the same time looking for a job in NC. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.
