My family will be relocating from the Charlotte area to Raleigh by the end of the year. We are looking for an older, established neighborhood in Midtown and have been looking at the Quail Hollow and Hickory Hills neighborhoods. Houses seem to be less expensive the closer (east) you get to Falls of Neuse; what is the reason for this? Is there a higher percentage of rental houses than owner-occupied? I'm hoping to come next week to look at the area, but in the meantime, I'd be grateful for any input. We also have two elementary school aged children, so any info on the school front would be great. Thanks in advance!
Quail Hollow has always been a very desirable n'hood. I think prices reflect the age of the home and in this area, we've always had so much new construction to choose.
