[SIZE=2][SIZE=2]I am coming to Raleigh for 5 days to look at apartments and for a job interview. I'm coming wtih my friend and we are both 24 years old. I was trying to find a hotel downtown but it seems they are all more than $100 a night. I'd like to spend 50-90 a night if possible. I'd like to walking distance to at least one bar. I was trying to find something in the cameron village or glenwood south area but I can't really find anything when I google it. And I"ve searched hotels.com, expedia, and travelocity. IT doesn't really give me a specific area that I can serach in. It just gives Raleigh as a general area. I'm more concerned with it being walking distance to bars than the pool. But the pool would be a great option if its available. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good hotel in a fun area in my price range? Thanks!

As a sampling via KAYAK for the period between July 12-16 (5 days), the Clarion downtown has a nightly rate of $68 and the Days Inn on Dawson Street downtown has a nightly rate of $52.
Honesty I'd go with the Clarion if I were in your situation. There's also the "City Center" Raleigh Mariott, but that's out of your range at about $200 a night for that same period. Similar is the downtown Sheraton Raleigh Hotel at $150 a night.
I've found many hotels using expedia, traveloctiy, hotels.com with cheap prices. However, I don't know if they are located near bars. Thats why I figured I"d ask the locals. :-)
So which hotel has the best to access to downtown bars?
Clarion Vs. Days in Downtown Raleigh
Clarion has a bar on top of the hotel
And it looks like Days inn Downtown Raleigh is 0.4-1 mile walking distance to a few bars.
Are these hotels in safe areas??? Like I won't have to be scared if its two 24 year old girls walking home from the bar after having a few drinks.
