We are still trying to find a space for our rehearsal dinner on 7/30 (yes this month) for around 35 people. We are looking for pretty causal and are on a tight bugget. Don't really want to go above $15 a head. We are even open to the idea of pizza wings and beer if there is such a place that has room for all 35 people. We are looking in the Raleigh area. Any thoughts?
I got married last month in Asheville. We did a rehearsal lunch instead of a rehearsal dinner to keep costs lower. Is that something you are opposed to? It actually worked really well for us, because we had little kidlets there so nobody little had to stay up late
You might want to check Caffe Luna, they are awesome. You could probably order a couple bottles of wine ahead of time so people can't go crazy on the drinks -- and I think they only serve beer & wine, so none of your guests could run your bill up with liquor drinks.
Buffalo's in the Stonehenge Shopping Center has great wings and a small room at the back of the restaurant. I'm not sure if it will hold 35 but you can always call and ask.
I would talk to the people @ Sitti in downtown - they have an event planner that works with the Empire Grp restaurants (Sitti/Gravy etc). I know they have a 10-15$ pp menu and private rooms etc. Lunches are cheaper & the food is pretty awesome.
/Just a hint - cash bar, you're already no doubt paying for a reception so let the rehearsal dinner ppl pay for booze
I did a birthday party at buku. we ordered $200 of food for 16 or 17 people and it was plenty of food. we didn't do drinks though. Ellen, the manager there, is super helpful. They have a private room in the back where we were--but we didn't "reserve" the room so there were a couple other parties around us.
Just an idea, but we ended up doing a catered meal for our rehearsal dinner. My wife's parents live in a neighborhood with a common room that can be reserved. The catering company showed up, prepared and served all the food. All we did was supply beer/wine/drinks purchased at a local store. It was definitely under $15 per person, and since we had the place to ourselves, we were free to relax, sit down, and stay as late as we wanted. Everyone had a good time, and it was a much more relaxed meal than your typical rehearsal dinner. If you have anywhere you could do something like this (ie big backyard, house, etc), something like this might work for you.
