you may find info on the annual hen-side the beltline tour webpage, which is pretty much what the name inplies: a tour of urban chicken living inside the beltline.

Hen-side the Beltline Tour d'Coop

that may help if you are seriously looking for an area closer to downtown that would allow coops.

We've been in Planter's Walk for a little under two months, and I am in LOVE! DH works in Rocky Mount, and I work off of Milbrook and Atlantic. DH can get to work in 35-40min, and it takes me about 20, taking 540. Both of our parents also live in Rocky Mount, and it makes it super easy for us to go visit them for a family dinner or just the afternoon.

You can jump on 64 bypass at the Hodge Rd exit to hit the beltline - I can be downtown in 15-20min, Garner is 15min, NCSU is 20min, Triangle Town Center area is 15min... everything is close. I can get to the grocery store by going through the neighborhood.

Its a very friendly community that has a bit of a small town feel to it. Since DH and I both grew up in Nashville (NC), we enjoy a close-knit community. The neighborhood does a number of events for the residents, and HOA dues are only $30/month.

I have always heard good things about Planter's Walk. It is good to hear from people that actually live there.

How is Planter's Walk now? Since it is split, is one side of 540 better than the other?

My husband has hopefully found employment in Wilson/Fuquay (pending on the day of the week) and we are considering buying in Knightdale by the end of the summer.

We're in our early thirties, no kids yet, looking for 150-190k homes, don't mind older, as long as it's in good condition and not too many trees.

Thanks

Planter's Walk USED to be considered to be way out in the country; however, with the way Knightdale has grown, it is somewhat in the middle of things NOW!

I don't know that there is any difference in one side versus another but perhaps someone who lives there can answer that question.

Since Knightdale has grown so much, you shouldn't have a problem, finding a home in the area. I have clients that live in Widewaters Village and love it.

I don't think it matters which side of the interstate you live on. The front side is closer to 64-Business, 540, and Target. The backside is closer to the 64 bypass entrance. But Lynnwood drive which runs through the neighborhood is only 1 mile front to back, so I would not let that influence your decision too much.

Some parts of the front side may be closer to the pool, and I think the second playground is near the front. But the backside was built later, so those houses are the newest. I also think some of the front houses may have more wooded lots, but that's not a universal rule.

Again, I don't think you will find a huge difference. Buy the house you like. I think any location within PW would be fine

Thank you for your responses. I will be looking there shortly and may drive through there tomorrow. If anyone else has input on Planter's Walk or Widewaters Village (since Vicki mentioned it), it's much appreciated.
