Hi all. First post for me! I'm a native NYer, born and raised. I'm 25 years old with a family that includes a beautiful 2 year old that means the world to us. I'm an IT professional that specializes in trading floor technology. I don't have a college degree thusfar but I do have about three years of IT work exp, 8 years of management exp, and various IT certifications.
I've been looking at NC for some time now and I really like what I see from all the way over here in NY
. From what I've read on other sites, Cary boasts a high household income, excellent school systems, lots of leisure activities, very affordable housing (at least compared to the 450k for 1600sq ft in the NY boroughs), and very family focused - everything I'm looking for.
However, after coming here I've noticed people posting about foreclosure rates skyrocketing (where has it not been?) and other things that push me away a bit.
Most of my data has been derived from:

Can anyone from this area point me in the right direction for anything you may feel would be helpful to someone planning on relocating? How accurate is that link I posted above? Are IT jobs plentiful? Likes/dislikes?
