Duke and NCState both have young-writer's camps during the summer months - has anyone sent their child to any of these camps? If so, what was their experience like and how long ago did they attend?

If not to either of these camps, but another writing camp - which one did you pick and why? was it enjoyed by your child?

i am looking around - there is a lot of variation in dates/times/prices and am wondering about it all.

I haven't been to either, but I did attend the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics Summer Writing Program at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.
Rumor has it both State and Duke are good camps.

I went to a similar program at Peace College way back when, and had a great time. it was a week long course i think (maybe 2?) and we lived on campus.

Eventually ended up going to Peace too

Not sure if they still have it or not, but their staff is really helpful, i bet if you call you could find out pretty easy.

One of my colleague's daughters did the Duke Young Writers Camp for a number of years and now returns to be a counselor. She loves it.
