We are interested in putting our 3 year old in a language immersion preschool in the fall. We are primarily looking at Atlas International School in Raleigh. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about this school? The concept of the school seems very unique but it is extremely small. Most of the preschool students are the teachers children. I am wondering why it doesn't have more students enrolled in the preschool class?
Are there any other immersion preschools in Raleigh or close to raleigh that offer full Spanish immersion?
I have a friend who has her kids at Atlas and she doesn't work at the school. They love it! I haven't heard anything but good things. Best thing to do is to go visit and observe classes if they'll let you.
Not sure what language you are looking for. There is a mandarin / english immersion program in Chapel Hill at Glenwood Elementary (charter school). You might want to think about that for Kindergarten.
Drop your child off at my house any weekend LOL. My wife only speaks Spanish to my daughter, and I speak both to her. She knows both equally well. I guess it's our own "homeschool" version of immersion.
When she's older my wife has already begun researching immersion programs, but I'm not sure how beneficial they are above and beyond what she's already taught her and will continue to teach. I'll support whatever she wants to do, of course. I think Atlas is the one on Capital? If so my wife keeps talking about it and wanting to go visit some time, but I keep telling her it's a tad early (my daughter only just turned 2).
