Hi!
Im 22 and I live in raleigh nc. I want to take a hip hop class because i think the dance is fun. The type where the choreographer is there, you walk in, have an hour or so to learn the choreography and thats that. Im not sure what those are called.
Anyway, i would like to go to one that is fun, with people my age. Not middle schoolers or the elderly.

DO any of you know a good studio that has weekly dance classes for people my age?

Thank you!

North Carolina Dance Institute is EXACTLY what you're looking for. I used to take there, and I LOVE it. They have classes for ages 14-adult. It's mostly young people there, but there are plenty of folks of all ages sprinkled in. I'm 35 and I went there. There were several people older than me taking classes.

To me, aerobics classes, "Jazzercise", or other exercise-focused classes aren't stimulating, inspiring or challenging enough for me.

This sounds exactly what i'm looking for too! I'm 22, I just moved to Chapel Hill from Atlanta where there are a ton of adult only dance studios with drop in classes- the type youre talking about when you just show up. I've done some research online and I can only really find family studios. I'm especially interested in hiphop, jazz, and possibly ballet. I was wondering if you've had any luck? Or if anyone else has any suggestions?
Thanks!

If you're in Chapel Hill, Barriskill Dance Studio in Durham would be a good choice. They have adult drop-in classes and work off a punch card system, so you can attend class when you want. You might check to see if the schedule has changed any since the start of the year - sometimes they add or delete classes.

If you're at all interested in like dancey fitness things, Zumba is always a great option. Fun and really really really easy to follow along.
