Hello All!

I currently live in an apartment near brier-creek. I want to move to a townhome when my lease is up or shortly before that time frame. (Feb 2013). I know it's probably way too early to start looking for homes but it's rather fun. I plan on living with my girlfriend (soon to be fiance ) and we are looking for a 3bd / 2-3 bathroom townhome in a very nice community (no death/crime, etc) We have been to several communities to just look and get the free brochures but most of them are "final phase of building" or whatever you want to call it and will likely be all sold out very soon.

My question is: Is there any site or any information somewhere that I can check out that shows maybe new townhome communities in the triangle that are going to be for sale late 2012/early 2012. Maybe a community that is in development stages or final stages coming soon? (I just want to know where a centex, lennar, kb homes may want to build a community next). I've found so many communities that I love but unfortunately it seems they will all be gone by the time I'm ready.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Figure 4 to 5 months lead time for construction, not to mention that most builders will not break ground until at least 2 or 3 units in the building are sold, and you will see that February is not all that far away.

Awesome. So is there any information out there that shows new communities that are planned on being built? for example. "New in Raleigh October 2012 new townhomes in xyz community will go on sale!" or something like "KB homes plans to build xyz community in north raleigh in november 2012"

I thought I read something recently on city-data that Inside Wade - a Lennar community is all townhomes -- they have 'standalone' townhomes as well as townhomes attached to each other.

They are still on phase 1 about to start into phase 2 -- unless phase 2 sells faster than phase 1, they'll still be building in the time frame you are discussing. Have you looked there?

ahhh they are quite pricey, small for the price for the cheapest as well (177k for 11-1200 sqfoot.) and the next cheapest is like 230k which is way too much for my first home

ty though I appreciate the help!

Don't forget to consider the monthly fee townhomes usually charge for upkeep which you don't have to worry about for a single family home.

True, Eva. Unfortunately I hate cutting grass lol. Homes are usually more expensive than townhomes too though, ya? --Atleast for what I want.
