Hi
Has anyone ever had a booth at Raleigh Flea Market? I've been to their website but they are not very specific on things like if you need to bring your own table, are there rules to displaying stuff, that sort of thing. Do any of you do this and can you give pointers such as preparing a cash box, do you report your sales as income (are you required to, or is it like Ebay?). I have a bunch of books, etc. don't want to list individually on Ebay.

Thanks

I'd be interested in the answer to this to so I'm bumping it. I make earrings and would be interested in setting up for a day to see if I could make anything off of them.

Hubby and I took a bunch of yard sale stuff out there but it was a couple of years ago.

We went to the office and they told us where we were alllowed to set up.

Someone came by to collect the fee.

We brought tables and set up our own racks, etc.

I'm sure you can CALL and they'd give you current info.

Vicki

I was in the office 4 or 5 years ago and was told that one stall was $18 a day.
Pretty cheap for access to the traffic you will see on a nice weekend.

I suppose it may be a few dollars more today.

Thanks everyone! It seems like a good place to have a quicker sale on some nicer stuff that's no longer wanted, than Ebay. I think I might give them a call.

Cheers!

Hi. I've sold at the flea market both as a vendor and as a individual person selling yard sale stuff. The flea market rents stalls to regular vendors and to individuals who plan to come out one-time to have a yard sale. If you want to be a vendor, you have to get a tax number and pay taxes on your income. The flea market office requires that number in order to rent a stall. If you just want to do a yard sale one-time, they have a "yard sale" section where people can rent stalls. I think it was $20 when I did it in the spring. This section is not located where the antiques and most popular section is. It is usually in front of Dorton Arena (dome) or to the side of the dome. You're near the people who regularly sell socks, jewelry, As Seen on TV proudcts.

Pointers: I used one of the waist money bags, not a cash box. Have lots of ones and quarters for change. Bring plastic bags and newspapers for wrapping items. Bring your own tables (they aren't provided). You can pull your car right up to your space, but you need to get there early in the first hour to do that. It's difficult once lots of people are walking around. If you are out there alone, make friends with your neighbor, so you can ask them to watch your booth while you use the bathroom or get food. Don't accept checks, there is an ATM on site.

Smile Any Sellers out there in 2017 at the Raleigh Flea Market?

I will be moving and down-sizing next year. I have sold some things on ebay but it seems alot of work for not a high value return. Have had good luck in my small town with regular yard sales but the items i want to part with are more high ticket items . Its hard to get decent money at yard sales for these things so i thought i might try the Raleigh Fair Grounds in the fall and spring of the year. Has anyone done this recently? How did it go? Was it worth it? Would appreciate any comments/advice about this.
