Hey everyone,

I've been looking at different threads regarding men's haircuts and most of them talk about about salon locations in Raleigh or Cary. I am looking for a place closer to home (FV/HS area). Just like the other threads, I'm looking for a place that isn't a chain (SportClips, Great Clips, etc.) and a place where I will have to pay $50 for a cut. Someone told me about Men's Extras in Apex, but I couldn't find much about it other than from yelp. Any help will be appreciated, since my hair is due to be trimmed. Thanks.

I changed from sports clips to 'The Barbers Shop, at Meeting Street, Cary. It costs $11 cash for cut, shampoo, neck massage and hot towel. They have about 10 stylists working usually

I get my hair cut by a woman who has her own shop in Carpenter Village (Morrisville). I live in southern Wake, but work in RTP, so I just stop in on my way home from work.

Sorry that I can't help with a name but...

I was eating at Anna's Pizza in Apex downtown and across the street, on the second floor, they had a men's hair cutting place offering 11 or 13 dollar cuts. I don't need a haircut at this time but am going to try them out next time.

There's also the new barbershop in downtown Holly Springs. I don't care for a barbershop cut, so I haven't tried it.

The place across from Anna's Pizza is Men's Extras. It is upstairs and a bit hidden. I've been going there since this summer for a haircut and beard trim. The women are great there and the waiting area has darts, ping pong and a big TV. Plus, when you spend more than 15 bucks (i think) you get a free drink (beer or soda.) It's definitely worth a try.

I might give that place a try, sounds great.

There a couple of OK places in Fuquay Varina - one is right across the parking lot from the new Cooley's location. The other is a few miles up 401 towards Raleigh, in the same strip mall as Enterprise. They both give a decent haircut but are lacking any kind of atmosphere.

Textures Salon. There are like a dozen little 10'x10' private rooms within the salon and each one is leased by a stylist to use as her own shop/business.
