need: Crate and Barrell, pottery barn, restoration hdwe, nordstroms, etc.
plus t was supposed to be mixed-use with a little downtown walking area and apts and such. i was looking fwd to it as i avoid Capital Blvd like the plague.
Agree. TTC always seems empty too. Do they get as much foot traffic as SouthPointe or Crabtree?
I personally love TTC. Quick and easy in and out, 10 mins from my house which is about how long it takes me to even find a parking spot the few times I've gone to Crabtree. I don't think you'll ever see the same stores in TTC due to the demographic. It's middle class around my area and Crabtree tends to have a lot more upper middle class folks. Sears, Macy's, New York & Co, etc. are great stores for the area. I doubt many people in this area will ever set foot in a Pottery Barn.
I just don't see those stores eyeing the area around 401/540 as a possible location maybe in 20 years but not now.
those store were definitley in the original plan! but that was 4 years ago so you are probably right. for now i just shop online or hoof it to CrabTree
Something large is now going up behind Triangle near Target. No idea what it will be.
If you're talking about that wooded area across Sumner Blvd (if facing Target it's on your right, closer to the Old Navy end of that strip) those will also be apartments. There are more going up over by Walmart.
"I doubt many people in this area will ever set foot in a Pottery Barn."
I know I wouldn't. Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrell and even though this wasn't mentioned, Ikea, are all pretty much overpriced for what you get - mass produced, pretty to look at things, but don't hold up long term - IMHO. You can find very nice things for your home that are well made and more unique for less money. And hopefully you won't go visit your neighbor and find the exact same things in their home.

If I remember correctly, there was a Pottery Barn and/or a Pottery Barn Kids in TTC and it closed while back. Probably at least partly to lack of foot traffic because it was down at (what seems to me) a less-busy end of the mall across from Z Gallerie and actually I don't think anything's currently in that spot right now.
There is some activity in the area...if you go down towards River Bend Elementary, there's work going on across the street from the school. Lots of work trucks there every day and a massive crane. I thought it was related to the Wake Tech campus since they seem to be expanding quite a bit, but the construction site seems to be a bit far from the campus and right in the area of 5401. So I dunno.
