Something large is now going up behind Triangle near Target. No idea what it will be.

Agree. TTC always seems empty too. Do they get as much foot traffic as SouthPointe or Crabtree?

I personally love TTC. Quick and easy in and out, 10 mins from my house which is about how long it takes me to even find a parking spot the few times I've gone to Crabtree. I don't think you'll ever see the same stores in TTC due to the demographic. It's middle class around my area and Crabtree tends to have a lot more upper middle class folks. Sears, Macy's, New York & Co, etc. are great stores for the area. I doubt many people in this area will ever set foot in a Pottery Barn.

Isn't Sak's at TTC? If so, not very middle class...

If you're talking about that wooded area across Sumner Blvd (if facing Target it's on your right, closer to the Old Navy end of that strip) those will also be apartments. There are more going up over by Walmart.

"I doubt many people in this area will ever set foot in a Pottery Barn."

I know I wouldn't. Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrell and even though this wasn't mentioned, Ikea, are all pretty much overpriced for what you get - mass produced, pretty to look at things, but don't hold up long term - IMHO. You can find very nice things for your home that are well made and more unique for less money. And hopefully you won't go visit your neighbor and find the exact same things in their home.

A Nordstroms would be a nice addition.

5401 North – Located at the interchange of US 401 and I-540. Mixed use development of 1200-1400 homes, apartments, along with 1.6 million square feet of offices, retail, restaurants, movie theater, plaza area for concerts and a 250 room hotel. Project was approved by Raleigh City Council 1/9/07. Contact Jimmy Barnes, NAI Carolantic Realty, Inc., PO Box 1550, Raleigh, NC 27602, (919) 832-0594, jbarnes@naicarolantic.com, www.5401north.com. STATUS: No action on this project.

also http://www.carolantic.com/PDF/1810_Flier.pdf seems to be the official site.

feel free to contact someone from either about the progress, but to my knowledge it's in limbo.

If I remember correctly, there was a Pottery Barn and/or a Pottery Barn Kids in TTC and it closed while back. Probably at least partly to lack of foot traffic because it was down at (what seems to me) a less-busy end of the mall across from Z Gallerie and actually I don't think anything's currently in that spot right now.

There is some activity in the area...if you go down towards River Bend Elementary, there's work going on across the street from the school. Lots of work trucks there every day and a massive crane. I thought it was related to the Wake Tech campus since they seem to be expanding quite a bit, but the construction site seems to be a bit far from the campus and right in the area of 5401. So I dunno.
