I'm planning a very small wedding for the end of April. So its also pretty short notice. Ideally I would like to have the ceremony and reception in the same place. Our reception will be more like a dinner party than a traditional reception. I'm not very familiar with places in Raleigh and need some suggestions to research. Any thoughts? Thanks.

One couple I knew had their wedding in a small winery. I believe the meal was catered. The photos were old world wonderful and I understand the wine was terrific.

I've known people to do small weddings at Caffe Luna and Humble Pie.

Cafe Luna can, whether they have availability on such short notice is another matter.

If Cafe Luna is booked, maybe the Washington-Duke or the Umstead
mid-week.

Do you happen to know the winery? Or could you find out? Thanks.

If not booked Second Empire or Angus Barn (ceremony outside perhaps with the reception in the wine cellar).

caffé luna is a charming venue where you could have the wedding & dinner. i've also know a couple that had their wedding at the chapel at mordecai (very tiny, very charming) & then having their reception at caffé luna.

second empire is a great location for such an even, too. i may be biased because i had my wedding reception there. tracy, the events coordinator there, is awesome to work with, the house is beautiful, & the food delicious. you could easily have the wedding in one room & the reception in another dining room or downstairs in the tavern.

Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern -

i've never been to humble pie for anything other than brunch but they do have a sweet outdoor terrace area that could easily double for a ceremony & reception.

Humble Pie Restaurant

busy bee cafe could be good for a rooftop ceremony & reception. they also have a lofted area where groups could gather but it can get VERY loud because of the acoustics. depending on the time of day, that could work.

Menu

you also may want to check out sitti. they have an area downstairs that could easily work for a small ceremony & reception.
