I'm moving and i need affordable movers in Durham to help me move my things. Its a very small move (heaviest things being:mattress, bed frame, chest of drawers and book case) i cant pay the ridiculous high prices of the moving companies. Where in Durham can i get some cheap labor to help me move? Thanks in advance!

In other areas, workers hang around the Home Depot.

Trosa - they take great care of your things. I'd never hire day laborers for this. My mother did, and they tried to steal her stuff - she chased one guy down the block!

When my daughter used a U-Haul truck to move, the rental place put her in contact with some guys who packed the truck for her. I don't think it cost her a fortune and they were quick, respectful, and very personable. She also tipped them and they were surprised at that. How refreshing!

THIS. Absolutely everybody I've known who did a move within Durham uses TROSA.

Day laborers used to hang out around an old lumbar yard on the downtown loop around American Tabacco and the Dpac. Dont know if they hang out on those railroad tracks anymore. This was probably 17-18 years ago.
I like the Trosa idea

Call Robert Jackson 919-215-1972.

We found him on Craig's List to help us unload our moving van when we moved here. He and his crew have been doing this for years and they know what they're doing. We've hired them to move several other things since then and have always been impressed.

Affordable, dependable, conscientious hard workers. I'd hire them in a heart beat.

One thing to consider is if they drop or damage something, you probably have no recourse.

Use Trosa for moving! You can hire them just to help you load. You really don't want random people in your home handling your things.

I used Trosa several years ago and didn't find them very well trained. They dropped several items. Hopefully, they have improved.
