It isn't a good idea to turn the a/c OFF since we have such humidity here. High humidity in the home will cause nail pops. Wood floors don't like humidity either!

I'd set the air at 80 degrees while you are out of town. It probably won't run much anyway since no one will be opening doors or windows.

Plus...once you get home, it won't cause the system to run too much to get it back to your desired temperature.

I thought I was the only one to do all this stuff! lol Only difference is I leave AC on 85 just to circulate the air some. I close all blinds and shades and that helps keep the heat at in the summer, so the ac runs minimum. But I always turn off the hot water hear and shut off the water. lol
