Durham has several 11'8" underpasses. I have personally seen trucks stuck under every one of them! The trucks on the video are not actually hitting the bridge at first. So many trucks have hit the bridges that the railroad company installed these big I beams in front of the bridges so that most of the impact doesn't affect the bridge. If you look, you see the flashing yellow lights saying "Your too tall"!!! on almost every shot...

This bridge and some of those videos have been featured on shows such as "Worlds Dumbest drivers".

Good thing for that steel beam. Otherwise many trains would probably be delayed.

Yes, there are 6 Amtrak trains a day over that bridge, plus anywhere from 2 to 6 freight trains. If the bridge itself is impacted in a non-trivial way, it has to be inspected. Thus, the protective crash beam.

I'm always a careful driver, but after seeing those Penske trucks - I'm definitely going to pay for the extra insurance when we move!

When you're a bridge in this area, you HAVE to be tough. Those drivers are some of the worst/dumbest in the country!
