This 15 year old girl has her own bank account? I find that hard to believe. How about whoever actually owns the account cancels the debit card or puts a freeze on debit/credit transactions?
Not unusual at all.. My kids had accounts by 14 to keep money they earned & learn to keep track of
finances..

No, it's definitely not unusual. My 5, 7, and 11 year-olds each have their own bank account. I got a passbook account (yes, I'm dating myself) when I was about 7 years old. Regardless of whether it's usual or not, it sounds like it's a great way to track this woman (or whoever is using the card). I hope they catch up with her soon.
The most important thing - she walked in the door at her house this afternoon and is home and safe!!!
I do want to address the comments from when I was here last.
I thought the bank account was her mom's, but it was hers. She and her 14 yr old brother have their own accounts. Any cash they recieve for holidays, birthdays, and odd jobs go in there. That way my sister can track where the $$ goes so they aren't trying to buy things she doesn't want them to have. That was the ONLY way we could figure out where she was at. Shutting it down was not an option.
She no longer had a cell phone - she lost priveledges and the number was deactivated. She was using someone else's phone at school to get on-line and to text this guy. We still don't know who's phone she was using. Its very likely her "Christmas gift" from me this year will include a gps micro-chip implanted so that we can track her. =0)
The guy she was with was not a fb friend - she was "smart" enough to keep that separate. Instead, it was someone she "met" online through a chat room or message board of some sort. Her dad was able to hack that account, and its how we got his pictures (but no other info about him). None of her friends from school knew anything about the website or what she was up to. We posted all kinds of updates and pleas for info on our own pages as well as hers.
It was treated as a runaway case instead of an abduction, and is why it did not qualify as an Amber Alert. I think we've got to find a balance to when the alert is acceptable and when it is not. This really could've been a dangerous situation, and I'm dissappointed that we were not able to get the help and support we needed to bring her home.
THANK YOU to all of those that spread around the picture and contacted me privately. I really can't thank you enough for the help.
So happy she is well. Many prayers went up on her behalf.
