Me and my girl are actually making our V-day Friday since both of us are working long hours on Thursday (valentines day)..

Not anything CRAZY fancy but I'm looking for a nice, smallish place that would be romantic/good lighting type of place for a nice dinner date... anything around Raleigh, Cary, or Durham like this that you guys would recommend?

My husband and I love going to J Betski's for date night. Dos Perros is another favorite of ours.

We are going to Sullivan's for our Valentine's Day. I haven't ever been there but I hear it's nice.

I can also highly recommend Caffe Luna in downtown Raleigh. Always superb!

An Cuisines in Cary is really nice although it is a bit expensive (we usually spend a bit more for special occasion dinners, so this is our once-a-year place), and for a more affordable but still lovely option is Buku in downtown Raleigh. What I love about each place is the lighting is perfect and there is an intimate and cozy feel that allows for nice conversation. Buku has two great seating options--private dining room or the fun yet still cozy bar area if you prefer to sit at a hightop table and people-watch as well as view the lovely waterfall mirror behind the bar.

And tends to be a bit noisy. Good food though.
