I'm talking nice like black dress and a suit are required.

Recommendations around Cary/Apex/Raleigh?

Pretend that price is no object.

Price is no object? I like that!

For Raleigh my suggestion is: Second Empire Restaurant

(Not sure about the dress requirement)

I think if you are looking for a suit being required, one of the only places I could really think of might be the Capital City Club, but you need a membership. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area, but no one around here really "requires" a suit or jacket.

Second Empire is really good.....you should also try:

Bin 54 (Chapel Hill...yeah yeah it's not close sorry)
Magnolia Grill (Durham)
Bistro 64 (Cary)
Margaux's (Raleigh)

All are very good, have great service and should provide for a wonderful night out (especially if you like wine).

A jacket is required for Fearrington House, and from what I've heard it can't be beat, but it is a bit of a drive from Cary.

Has anyone been anywhere around here where a suit was actually required? I thought those places only existed in the movies.

Many of the suggestions given start with the phrase "Ive heard that..." If you want a recommendation based on personal experience based on what you've asked for, I'd have to say Heron's. It's in the Umstead Hotel in Cary so also conveniently located.

Well OK I don't mean a suit is strictly required, but where it (or a sport coat) wouldn't be out of place.
