I purchased a 1976 Ford Ranger. I'm looking for a quality mechanic with reasonable prices to help maintain this truck. To start I'm hoping it can get a thorough evaluations and there are a couple existing problems that need to be fixed.

Who would you recommend?
If you're not tied to someone in Cary proper, check out McNair Performance near Brier Creek off Lumley. They have always done us right, and for very reasonable prices.
When I was in Cary I went to Frantz too. They always did me right and never tried to rip me off or tell me I need to fix things that don't need to be fixed, unlike Precision Tune on Tryon. Don't ever go there.

Reason: typo
I've been happy with Cricket, if you want a Frantz alternative. I can't say that they are cheap, but they haven't once tried to upsell me on anything. They look into/fix what I ask about, and that's it. Such a relief vs. the chains that try to "doom and gloom" you into a bunch of unnecessary stuff.
We go to Frantz as well. Always been fair and square with us.
Sometimes takes a week or so to get an appt.
