I have rental duplexes which were built in 1948 and they have beautiful hardwood floors. You can imagine how much abuse they take as rental units even with good renters. I'm slowing having the floors refinished for the first time since they were built! I had them sanded down and restained with a more contemporary dark stain and they are beautiful. I don't allow dogs cause I know from experience how much damage they do to floors.
