It's like these people have never sat in a car in summer themselves. If it's too hot for you to sit in there without a/c, it's too hot for any other animals in your car.

The sad truth is, that there are people out there who view animals such as dogs, as nothing more than tools, or a way to make a living.....like a farmer views a cow or pig.
It shouldn't be shocking that this dog was treated like a briefcase. I've run into people who work for animal shelters, and seem to be the exact opposite of what many people would expect. I've met some who seem to have a strong aversion to animals.
Oh my gosh. The picture of that dog in the story broke my heart. What a beautiful boy he was. I wouldn't think twice about breaking someones window if I came across someone with their pets in the car. I'd deal with the aftermath if charged. I was at the store the other day and they announced over the loud speaker that there was a dog outside in a parked car (announced the plate number and make/model) and the person needed to return to their car immediately before other measures were taken. I assume that meant someone was going to break the window. Hopefully the dog was ok.

I hope only if the dog was in distress..I have cooled a car consideralbly down to 60 degrees, ran in 5 min. Its not hard to test this while in the car to know the minute/degree change & the car is only 70 or 75 degrees after 5 minutes...I have also left a car running with ac for a 5 minute stay...

Would you leave your baby in a hot car for 5 minutes? You leave the car running with the ac on for 5 minutes, fine and dandy. If I come along on a hot day and your dog is in the car and you can't be found after a few minutes, there is a real possibility you'll find a broken window. I don't care how much you've "tested" the inside of your car. Which makes me wonder why you would "test" the inside of the car temps in the first place. Are you trying to figure out how long you can get away with leaving your dog in the car before it suffers?
