Is there anywhere in Raleigh I could get good quality Flat Panel HDTVs, new or used, for affordable prices in the Raleigh area? Trying to get a 50'' for my living room... and maybe a 36'' for the guest bedroom. You guys know any places?
I got my flat panel TV at Costco - good price, excellent warranty, very happy with it 2.5 years later. I think the other warehouse clubs would be good as well. Or start scouring the Sunday sale advertisements (Best Buy/HH Gregg/etc.).
Check out CompUSA on Capitol. They beat Costco on price the last time I comparison shopped plus they also tend to have close-outs and floor models for sale at even lower prices.
But the last time I purchased a flat-screen (just two months ago) I went to Best Buy with a budget and found exactly what I was looking for (a 32" for $299 or less). It was a very simple, stress-free purchasing experience.
I would take a look at some of the retailers mentioned above and then do a google shopping search for the models you naroow it down to. You should be able to find a lot of TV's you can buy with $0 shipping and no taxes charged, although it must be reported on your state tax filing ;-). I have bought our last 3 TV's this way and always save money over anything I could buy at the big box stores.
I got my plasma from Sears. I actually found the deal on one of the deal websites (not sure if I can post it here). I ordered it online & had it delivered to my house for free. A lot of my big electronic purchases I have found through the deal website.
Thanks guys... I'll check out your suggestions. Funky Chicken, $699 sounds like a normal price for a 50''. I'm trying to go lower if possible. I saw a Sceptre (Up and coming brand) on WalMart's website for $400. Reviews are decent to good, but I'm skeptical because I have never heard of that brand until now.
I've gotten a couple of great deals on TV's through the amazon warehouse, which is open box and discounted items. It not as easy to find on the Amazon site as it used to be, but you can scroll to the bottom of the main page and see a link.
I'd rather get one of the name brand open boxes deals than a walmart brand.
Also had good luck by just shopping best buy for open box deals. I bought my first HD tv that way. It lasted 5 years before I sold it.
