No doubt, but even farther than Larry's.

Any new information for my fresh liver quest? I've been hitting Larry's when I'm on that side of town, but that's not too often. I did try frozen, with results that proved unsatisfactory.

Anybody know if The Butcher's Market carries it and sells it in a small package (like enough for one person)?

Maybe give a call to the Middle Eastern markets near NC State. There are a few Halal butchers there. One of the pictures on the Almadina Market website LOOKED like liver - although could be beef or lamb. A smidge closer to you than Larry's.

Ma also try Grand Asia or other Ethic Grocers (Halal Shops are a good idea). Try Latin Grocers as well.

Grand Asia does not carry beef or calf liver. Only pork liver.

Latin Grocers sometimes have liver, but it's cut very, very thinly and virtually impossible to cook medium rare.

Halal Shops never occurred to me.

Larry's has excellent liver, but again, I wish I could find someplace closer to Brier Creek.

Nope. Just Larry's, which is not exactly nearby.

How about the Butcher's Market on Falls of Neuse? I think there is also one in Cary. I bet they either have it or could get it for you.

The last time I checked, they did not regularly carry it. Maybe they could get it on request, but since I only want enough to feed one person for one dinner, I don't think that's a reasonable request.

Have you asked any of the meat vendors at the local farmers markets? Fickle Creek is one that I have purchased from. Western Wake and Durham farmer's markets both have websites that list their vendors and links to their sites. If they do not carry it regularly you might be able to make a request for it and they will let you know when they will have it available.
