Hey all. Recently moved to Raleigh to take a new job with my company. I'm currently renting a room off an individual who I met through one of those roommate finder sites. I was very short on time when moving down here. Been down here about 5 weeks now, and I'm looking to get my own place. I'm a 25 year old male, and I have a medium sized dog, so pets would have to be allowed. I currently live in North Raleigh, off Six Forks. I work in Wake Forest, and my current commute is about 25 minutes. I'm not looking to move much further away from there. I do like my current location as I'm basically between work and downtown. I don't go out every weekend, but would like to have relatively easy access to downtown. So that rules out moving to Wake Forest most likely. I'm hoping to find something for around $600/month for a one bedroom. Been trying to do some research, but figured I'd look for some help on here. Does anybody have any suggestions for something that would meet my needs? I've got The Landings and Lynnwood Park on my list of places to look at at the moment. Anybody have any experience with them? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions. It's greatly appreciated.

There are nice, pet friendly apartments off of Durant between Falls of Neuse and capital. There are also older apartments off of Six forks and Strickland -- many have screened porches which is nice. The pricing might be competitive because they are older. Also, as you head toward Raleigh down Six Forks (from Strickland), there several apartment complexes on the left and right. My BIL lived in apartments off of Lynn Rd that had the walking trail around Lake Lynn -- and he enjoyed being able to take a beautiful walk every day - might be good for your dog as well. not sure if they were pet friendly though.

Good luck and welcome to the area!
