are you dumping them? If so, to what? I know there are no alternatives for internet unless you live in a FIOS region (we do not), and I have my landline through them. But this is getting freeking ridiculous.

I want HBO and Showtime on a current basis. So streaming, Netflix, Hulu, etc are not acceptable alternatives.

I'm interested in hearing from people in similar positions to mine:

* Need high speed internet - minimum 25 mps download speed
* Want current HBO and SHO
* Need a landline (not an option to drop it and go 100% cellular - been there, done that, didn't work well
for us)

Prefer not to increase my cost or sign a contract, but I'd be willing to consider a contract at this point.

Directv? Dish?

I have U-Verse and am quite happy with it (internet/phone/tv).. but it's not exactly a cheap option. You'd have to stay with TWC for the 25mbps download speed.

We have Direct TV, we have only lost are signal in a bad rain storm, and have TWC for internet - extreme, and have Windstream for land line, we have to do it this way because my wife works from home and this is required - less the Direct we just like it better and no bundling is allowed.

We haven't had any issues with Uverse internet speeds thus far and my DH works from home.

Yep...wife says she's drawing the line now with TWC dropping Showtime. She took the box in yesterday. We're dumping cable and landline phone, and going with rabbit ears and I-phones. We'll keep the high speed Internet for the time being, and figure that out later. Goodbye TWC...we're FREE!

Oh...and the picture is better with the rabbit ears

DTV is great but you will pay less doing a bundle with AT&T, or VZ if FIOS ever comes.

DTV has a great deal right now, sign up through the Costco site and on top of what you get from DTV, you get a $200 Costco cash card.

You do know this fight between CBS and TWC will be over in 3 weeks? You are only missing Showtime because CBS owns it. You can get money back for the time being and they would probably give you a discount, ie Time Warner will give you a discount. Networks and Cable companies go through this all the time, it is negotiations. Right now they have no reason to talk, but in 3 weeks they will. The reason for 3 weeks, is the start of the NFL season and new prime time shows. CBS will not want to lose some of the biggest ratings for the NFL and primetime shows. They will lose advertisers, etc. Both sides are posturing right now, but there will be a compromise on the night before football starts. If you want to leave Time Warner, that is fine, but just remember, this is only temporary.
