Hi. I'm hoping that I can get some insight into some of the more desirable neighborhoods between 440 and 540 in Raleigh. Our daughter will be attending school just inside the beltline around Six Forks, so I wanted to keep the drive to no more than 20 minutes if possible. Our price range is around $400k-$700k. We looked around North Hills, but weren't crazy about that area (great mall though!). We love neighborhoods like Crossgate and Macgregor but feel that the drive to our daughters school would be too long. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

I really like the neighborhood coachman's trail. It is off of six forks, older homes, but many are in excellent condition, people are also doing lots of renovating in the neighborhood, acre lots, etc. It is actually just south of 540. Might be a place to look into.

Brookhaven/West, Stonehenge, Bent Tree, North Ridge, Vestavia Woods, some new construction infill in Chestnut Hills which is near North Hills, Madison Park, Stonehaven, Springdale, French Woods, Murray Hill at Crosswinds, Heritage Point

Springdale Gardens/Estates area and North Ridge may best remind you of MacGregor.

There are others, too. Quick list.

Coachman's Trail is north of 540 and it would be a long drive to Six Forks ITB. My kids used to go to school in the same area (magnet) and we live north of 540. Its a long haul.
