I make my apple pie using only granny smith apples, as well. Its not too sweet and yet, not too tart! I may try Emeril's recipe but usually if I switch something my family likes, I get nothing but "I like the way you usually make it!".

I just finished making a carrot cake because I wanted it!!!

Of course, I must sample anything I bake BEFORE I take it for others to enjoy! Do you think anyone will notice the slice missing???

Vicki

We ate at the Radisson in the RTP for Thanksgiving, and it was delicious. They had baked Alaska on the dessert table, and among the pies was a pumpkin with a nice hint of Amaretto.

Hubby will make my apple pie for me this weekend. I really would encourage you Guys to try the Emeril apple pie posted, via the link below. It is delicious -- a nice twist on the traditional apple pie.

I made a pumpkin pie and an apple pie for Thanksgiving! Very easy to do. I cheated with the apple pie by buying the ready made crusts (the rolled up kind). Yum. They went fast, next year will have to double the batches.
