I just bought a new townhome and moved in few days ago. When the timewarner guy tried to install internet for me, he noticed that there was no internet and telephone cable wired in this new building. The building was contacted and agreed to repair. But this will involve works to knock off the dry wall on the ceiling, wire the cable through ceiling light and air outlet where it should not be used normally for cable. The kind of cable wiring may affect the security system work. Any one know if there is a legal system I can claim this construction defects? many thanks

Why not let them fix the repair and see if it causes any problem..

so i assume you share a common wall with the neighbor? so they also have no wiring?

I can believe it. The military family who designed and then backed out of the spec home we ended up buying upgraded much of the home but cheaped out considerably on the wiring.

My buyer agent said he has never seen this before. The builder missed the cables only in my unit.

They are trying to repair it. But with the slab, they can only drill holes and knock off ceilings now. There are lots of cosmetic problems and may affect the security system.

The timewarner guy said it is not a choice. It has to be the builder wire a cable interior first. I have no idea how this building passed city and builder's inspection
