Hi everyone,
i'm in a planning phase of moving to NC, specificly around/near the triangle area. I'm interested in firefighter career but have no idea how the county fire departments in NC recruit their employee? what minimum qualifications are they looking for?
also i hear that the military bases there have their own firefighters on base. does anyone know if their method of recruiting different from county fire departments? if so, how do they do it?

thanks

In the triangle area the cities/towns hire their own employees and they hire at different times. If you are interested in working for a city department, you will have to call their personnel dept., or maybe you can find the info you are looking for on a city/town web site.
In Wake County the unincorperated areas are served by combination (paid/volunteer) departments. Each dept. is seperate from the rest and they hire as they need to (most of these are daytime positions as most of them rely on volunteers for night time staffing).
