I just checked McLamb Nursery website. It appears they only sale to customers purchasing plants for resale and you need to have a nursery certificate number.

I'm buying for an HOA, so we are buying in quantity. However, we are not a nursery reselling plants.

I there a way that they will sell in large quantities if we pay the tax or ?

Awakening this old thread - looking for 10-15 Azaleas and wondering if Broadwells or the ones nearby have any and if so, do they have Encore?

Yeah, but plants that are $30 at a retail nursery will cost you $3 at Broadwell's.

Yeah, I get that - it was just a sample of the advantages of buying from a large wholesale nursery instead of at retail.

Last year Broadwells had plenty of the regular Azaleas The nursery across the street (turn right from Broadwells, first place on left) carried the Encore variety. I think the Encore were $10.

Old Stage Nursery across from Broadwell's had a bunch of Azalea's last week. I didn't check prices as we didn't need any, but they were definitely there. While there, we were told nurseries from the north are coming in and cleaning out their inventory. There was a semi truck there loading and the guy was from Virginia. Same thing at Broadwells. As we pulled up, a semi was leaving. Apparently, the nursery business up north didn't do so well in the recession so they are buying here and transporting up. True, false not sure, but both said they didn't expect to have inventory by the end of summer. Crazy.

I saw no ground cover at Broadwells or Old Stage, but there is a nursery right next to Broadwells and across from Old Stage that sells flowers and probably ground covers. We went there last year looking for Lamb's ears, but didn't see any.
