Anyone in the area using TWC's Intelligent home? I called today to start service (we close on our new home in 3 weeks woo!) and the gentleman asked if I would be interested in their I.H. I said I would research it on my own and call back at a later time. It's 20 a month for new customers. That includes the security system for all windows and doors, and a touch pad. Thermostat, door locks, garage door equipment is extra, anyone?

TWC are you kidding me? I wouldn't use them for anything. They say 20 a month...the next month it will be 60. Unless you are loaded and really need all that garbage I wouldn't recommend it.

I can't believe you can say TWC and intelligent in the same sentence.

Alright then hahaha... We are using them for our cable and internet. I would go with dish/direct TV but my wife is insistent there be no satellite anywhere on the premises... so. I suppose I can look into ADT or another one, any suggestions? I am not so much worried about a break-in as I am fire. We have three cats and a dog that live inside full time.

DirecTV customer here, but TWC's internet has been far more stable than ATT's DSL for my area. They are somewhat more expensive (and like DirecTV you need to call a couple of times a year, threaten to cancel and have them lower your bill) but I have had very few if any outages in the past 1.5 yrs I have been using them, whereas ATT DSL service went out once a quarter at least and always took at least a day to come back online (one time was 2.5 days) - not acceptable with dependence on internet for children's homework, house telephone, streaming entertainment, work day extension at home in the evening, etc.
