I saw wind making the trees dance for about 10 minutes and then...nothing! Between Creedmoor and Six Forks. Where did he go???

Same thing happened near DT Raleigh where I was. 30-35 MPH wind gusts and heavy rain for about 10-15 minutes, now it's calm.

The Crabtree Valley Mall area lost power for about 25 minutes - don't know if storm related.

We got what I call "Hollywood rain" the kind they have in soap operas. Straight down, heavy. It was fun to watch from my front porch. And I know my tomato plants appreciated it.

Ours began that way, then went this way and that way and this way and that way.

I understand Wilmington is really feeling this storm right now. We've not had even a drop of rain in my part of Cary, but my husband came home from RTP because it was pouring out and they were talking hurricanes and such. Crazy weather.

We are in Wrightsville Beach right now. The surf is crazy, the wind is howling and we just had a major wind gust. The rain comes and goes. We had a tornado warning before and we were all herded into the ballroom to wait it out.

It reminds me of a blizzard without the snow. The sand is blowing like crazy too.

One of my kids opened the balcony door at the same time another one opened the outside door and I thought we would all be sucked out of the room, LOL.

A weather channel reporter is at our hotel - never a good sign, LOL.
