We used Lee Hardwoods for the floors and Hansell painting. We were happy with both.

I just read that you are hoping to have the work done next week, that will not happen with either company I recommended. In fact, you may be lucky to get Lee Hardwoods for an estimate next week, depending on how busy they are. Most of the reputable companies I called could not do the work for a couple of weeks, or more. The painter who gave me an estimate but would not provide his insurance company name, was willing to come right away - guess who did not get hired?!

Totally agree with this. Any reputable contractor around here is going to stay extremely busy and not be willing to drop everything for a new job. I can recommend hardwood floor refinishers and painters but they will be at least 3-4 weeks out, if not more, on doing the work:

BD's Hardwoods - BD's Hardwood Floors, Inc., Raleigh, NC - Custom Designs, Installations, Exotic Woods

Primary Painting (not "of Cary" just "Primary Painting" - I can only recommend the one based in Raleigh which is not affiliated with the one in Cary) - Primary Painting - Raleigh, Cary, Apex, North Carolina - House Painters

Anthony Osborne of Osbornes painting out if Youngsville. Will not be the cheapest quote because he will take a black light to your walls and fix any blemishes or nail pops. His company painted the out side of our home and replaced wood rot, caulked every joint, primed entire house, and 2 coats of paint. Does not cut corners when it comes to painting!
