Hi I just transferred my DL from Ohio to NC and wondering how long does it really take to get the new one in the mail? They said 2 weeks but does anyone have better results? I am traveling a lot for work and would like to have it before my current one expires next week.
My own fault for waiting till the last minute but with them not having Saturday hours, it makes a little difficult.

Thanks all.
My wife and I got ours within 7 days so I guess it really depends on how many they have to process when you did yours as to how long it will take to get yours.
Also - there are a few DMV sites that are open on Saturday mornings (or at least there used to be). The first one that pops in my head is the one off of Avent Ferry and Gorman, in the shopping center with the Food Lion.
No transfer.... we were there yesterday for our licenses. You really need to prepare ahead of time for the paperwork- you need certain documentation for them. Check the website and doublecheck that you have everything you need. One thing we weren't prepared for is that you need your SS card: not the number but the actual card... so we ended up going into Raleigh for his SS card...it will take 1-2 weeks and then he can go back and get in line, take the test etc.
My only problem was that my license and everything else I sign uses my middle initial and not my middle name. That's a problem with the DMV and I had to go home and get something official that actually had my middle name spelled out so they could see it. (my marriage certificate had it).
The test itself is on the computer and wasn't bad at all if you have looked over the info.
Nice people there though, and very helpful... but rules are rules and they won't let you take the test without all the proper documents right there in front of them. Oh well, but I guess identify theft is a real problem here now. It is a protection for all of us really...
