My senior doggie girl is one of those long-backed breeds. Her back these days needs special attention...I hate to see her stiff and slow. It's even worse when it goes out and she yelps and cries in pain until treated.

Our former vet specialized in bad backs, giving a combination of accupuncture and meds when her back went out. Not all vets do this, I think.

Are any Durham dog lovers acquainted with a vet that is good with bad backs and, hopefully, geriactric care for dogs?

Thanks!

I really like the vets at Triangle Veterinary Hospital (Old Chapel Hill Road, Durham). One of them was recently certified in veterinary acupuncture so I might take my dog there for that - she has a bad back as well. We see Dr. Welch and have consulted with Dr. Miller. However, my dog has seen them for other problems so I really can't vouch for how they are with this particular issue. Dr. Welch really knows her stuff. http://www.trianglevet.com/
