If you have switched your ISP from Time-Warner Roadrunner to Earthlink I would like to know if you are satisfied with the service. I think they use the same basic backbone so I would think the service would be about the same ?

We never had Time Warner but went right to EarthLink and the service is just as good as TWC, which is to say, not that great. inconsistent speeds, occasional connection issues and of course nothing is ever wrong when you call tech support.

We switched from TWC to Earthlink for about six months after TWC jacked their price up. There really wasn't any noticeable difference in speed or performance in our case..it just costs less. You still keep the same modem (assuming you already have TWC) and the monthly bill still comes from TWC. Really the only downside is you will lose any TWC email addresses if that matters to you and will have to create new ones for Earthlink. I never had any issues with Earthlink customer service and the switchover was almost seamless. We switched back to TWC only because my son needed faster Internet speed for his network servers.

TWC and Earthlink are the pretty much the same. Same backbone. When you call customer service an there is a problem they put you only hold and call TWC and conference them in. My Earthlink bills comes from TWC.

I've been with Earthlink for the better part of the last 20 years. No problems to speak of.

I switched maybe a year ago after getting tired of calling TWC every few months to quit.

I use an old modem I had, bill was $29.95 no tax at all for 6 months then $41.95. I have the 15 Mbps service.

Seems to be exactly the same as TWC.

I plan to visit the TWC cary store & cance lmy cable tv and return the box.

Now, How do I switch my internet to earthlink without downtime? Do I just tell the ladies a the store to do that? Or is it over phone?

(I have the standard 15mbps/internet and my own docsis3.0 model)

I was told that Earthlink operates on its own VRF/VLAN segment isolated from TWC, and so if you are experiencing congestion from TWC, an Earthlink switch might help.

FWIW, I was having significant buffering/timeouts on streaming media with TWC, which disappeared when I went to Earthlink. Of course, YMMV.

I signed up with Earthlink online, then Earthlink called me and switched me over the phone. I had to unplug the modem for a bit and when it rebooted I was with Earthlink.

You will lose your RR email when you switch, so if you use that for email you'll need to copy your address book first.

Hope that helps.
