What did the media think would happen when they sensationalized the stories
and ran non stop clips of things that encouraged blacks to distrust the police...
Yep, it is in the media every day now. NYC, LA, Durham and Pasco County, FL.....which is the next county from us. I think a lot of these may be wannabes. It's a bad cycle. Bad things happen, media reports, wannabes jump on the bandwagon. I hope it ends soon. When we lived in the Raleigh area and where we live now, there have not been any major issues with police and residents. This type of thing is not representative of either area, but now we make national news. Ugh! And the poor police officers trying to do their jobs, while fearing for their lives because of a few punk wannabes.
A police officer got in a shoot out while sitting at an abandoned apartment complex in one of the worst parts of town, late at night. This was not a civil rights protest... this was criminals not trying to go to jail that night. If you're a police officer out on patrol then you know there is always the chance of that in an armed society like ours.
And from this last article they said they weren't even sure it was a firearm. Might have been a pellet gun. Who knows what the intention was?
I actually used to live in that apartment complex and there were multiple police officers living there when I did. It's a quiet complex filled with mostly families. It could have been some young kid fooling around and didn't even know it was the home of an officer.
Complaining about how the media sensationalizes things and then turning around and falling prey to the exact same thing is a little ironic, no?
Tell that to the families of the 2 cops that were killed for revenge in New York..
Sure, that's sad.
But there are thousands and thousands of people dying in America daily. There are troops dying overseas but there are 100x more innocent civilians dying in the Middle East as we speak. We should be mourning all of then.
The life of a police officer is not more important to me than any other single person. Human life is human life. All of it is precious. Just because you take a job and a put on a badge or uniform does not make you any more special in my eyes.

Declaring revenge & a
street war on a group of people that risk their lives everyday to
serve & protect lives is sickening to me !!!!!
