We tried to go to London Fish and Chips in Cary last night and it was closed. I just tried to access their website and I couldn't get onto it and after a search I found this information London Fish & Chips For Sale - business for sale, Cary, North Carolina on BizBuySell.com. The business is for sale. I have been craving fish, chips and mushy peas but I guess I'll have to wait till I go back to England for a visit. I know the restaurant had some teething troubles early on but I thought they had fixed those. Anyone know any details?
That's too bad. Gosh, the restaurant business is one of the riskiest out there! Jackie, maybe you should buy it You love to cook and you're a foodie
I might be tempted if it was in Chapel Hill but it took us well over half an hour to get there last night.
It is also not in a great location. You need a place like that to be visible from the street so that you can get people who were driving by to stop in. It is hidden in a tiny strip mall.

I just drove by London Fish and Chips. It's quite open, and there's a good crowd for 9pm on a Friday.
We've always had a great experience there. The food was slower than fast food (as I would expect), but always good, fresh, and served within a reasonable time by people who were friendly and helpful. We don't eat there during peak times, though.
As far as their website being down, I'm betting that their webmaster enabled a new feature without testing it, or they ran up against bandwidth limitations, or some other issue with the ISP is preventing everyone from seeing their website.
The restaurant may be for sale, but it's still very much open for business. I do remember seeing them closed at odd times; I've always seen the same people working there, and I'm betting it's a family run business, and they had to close early for some reason.
What's really weird is that back in March of last year my wife and I along with some friends met the two people that were just about to open this place. They explained that they were opening up a fish and chips in Cary and that they hoped to be successful since they had no compitition. We were out at a bar in Raleigh and had a nice conversation with them. The man was from England and his wife was American, they told us they had 2 or 3 kids (can't remember). I've never made it down to Cary to check it out, but my wife and I want to go. If they are still open maybe we can check it out this weekend.
